The Haworth Beer Festival opened its doors in 2012 creating the ‘Great Yorkshire Micro Brewery Revolution’, offering over 35 tasty ales from Yorkshire that were purely Micro Brewed, proving popular amongst our festival follows. We have seen a huge resurgence in lovely micro breweries, not only from Yorkshire but across the UK and we are very keen to support those brewing, as without those passionate folk we would not be able to continue with this popular annual event. Get your tickets early, as we have over 1000 coming through the doors. Over the weekends we get busy at peak periods and have a limited capacity in the venue.
We are fortunate enough to hold the Festival in a building which is a hidden gem in infamous Haworth, The Old School Rooms. It was commissioned by Mr Patrick Bronte who taught there along with his daughters Charlotte & Emily. We love this place and hope to continue to hold the Festival in this special place – (picture). The atmosphere of this 1832 building holds history and heritage, which we are helping to keep alive by running the Festivals here. I am sure he Brontes would approve! www.theoldschoolroomhaworth.co.uk
In 2014 the ‘Tour de France’ hit Yorkshire. It was amazing to be on the route in Haworth so we opened the School Room’s doors once again to the world, offering exclusive special ales on tap all in one place. We were blessed with great weather and opening the courtyard as a pop up beer garden was a great place to quaffer one or two! (pictures)
We are always thinking of new and refreshing ideas to keep you entertained, so when we asked if you would like us to host a Sausage and Cider Festival we had a great response. The mini Oktoberfest was born! With over 20 ciders from across the UK, locally handmade Sausages by Ellisons Buchers and Marsh Top, cooked by our favourite caterers,‘Jakes Place’. We sold over 500 Sausages: sold out! Sunday proved to be a popular choice with parents, as the family funday kept the little ones entertained and raised over £400 for our local charity, Manorlands Hospice www.sueryder.org/manorlands
