The Bradford Photographic Society Annual Print Exhibition held at Shipley Library was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Abid Hussain.
Other dignitaries attending the event, which took place on October 4, included Alan Stopher, President of the Yorkshire Photographic Union (YPU), and Micheal Terwin, Head of the Collections and Exhibitions at the National Science and Media Museum (NSMM).
Tom Heggie, the society’s immediate past president, officiated on behalf of the Bradford Photographic Society.
Cllr Hussain was confirmed as the new Patron to the Bradford Photographic Society.
This position has been held by all of Bradford’s Lord Mayors since the beginning of the BPS in 1860,
Mr Stopher complemented the society on its standard of prints at the exhibition and recognised the long standing relationship between the BPS and the YPU.
Micheal Terwin from the NSMM also congratulated the BPS on its exhibition.
He thanked the society for its work in the past with the NSMM and looked forward to working together on future projects between the Bradford Photographic Society and the National Science Media Museum.
The exhibition at Shipley Library runs until Thursday (October 14) and entrance is free. There are more than 140 prints on display of which some are for sale.
